Something is shifting at SpaceCraft.
The extension is taking shape, the slab is down, and the CNC is on its way. It’s a good moment to step back and look at how the business is evolving.
Because as we’ve grown, one thing has become clear. There’s a missing piece in how we bring it all together. We’ve grown faster than we ever expected, thanks to an incredible team of humans and clients who continue to choose us. But as we’ve grown, we’re starting to feel the edges of it.
Most businesses don’t struggle to win work. They struggle to deliver it. Jobs run behind schedule, details get missed, and teams work hard but not always in sync. When something goes wrong, it is often unclear where the issue actually sits.
The problem is not effort. It is structure.
In many businesses, roles are built around people rather than what the business actually needs to produce. As a result, accountability becomes blurred. Once a job is won, it moves from one team to another and problems fall between the gaps.
That’s where we’re starting to feel the pressure. Not because the team isn’t capable, quite the opposite. It’s because we’re growing, and what got us here won’t get us to the next stage.
At SpaceCraft, we think a lot about how work flows through the business. Each stage sets up the next, and when one part breaks down, everything becomes harder than it needs to be. The most critical part of that flow sits after design.
That is where this role comes in.
This is a client-focused management role with responsibility for the client journey from approval through to completion. It connects pre-production, manufacturing, and installation into one aligned system, ensuring that what we promise as a business is consistently delivered on the ground.
At a practical level, it means ensuring jobs are ready before they enter production, driving alignment between design, workshop, and install, and holding accountability for timelines, quality, and the overall client experience. It also means identifying issues early, before they become problems, and continuously improving systems and workflow as we grow.
This is not about coordination. It is about ownership.
When this role is done well, the difference is felt across the whole team. There is more clarity, less firefighting, and fewer surprises. Work flows more smoothly, issues are solved earlier, and standards lift. People feel supported rather than stretched, and the business performs at a higher level, consistently.
Who this is for
This is a management-level opportunity for someone who:
• has solid industry experience across production, install, or project delivery
• has led teams and driven outcomes in a practical environment
• understands systems, sequencing, and how work actually flows
• is confident stepping into complexity and creating structure
• is comfortable holding standards and having performance conversations
• is motivated by ownership, not just involvement
You will need to be comfortable in the grey, and energised by the opportunity to shape something rather than simply step into it.
The time is right. We’ve been quite literally bursting at the seams, so we’re preparing to move into the new shed and refine our storage, workflow, and processes as everything comes online. We’ve built a strong foundation. Now it’s about lifting how we operate and delivering at the next level.
We’ll move into a more formal recruitment process shortly, but for now we’re putting this out into the ether to start a few conversations. If this resonates, or if someone comes to mind who would be a strong fit, we’d love to hear from you.
If this sounds like your kind of role, we’d love to hear from you. Email us your CV and a short intro about yourself, or feel free to drop into our workshop located in Strathalbyn and introduce yourself to Nathan, our Design Director.
