On Saturday night, our team headed to the South Australian HIA Awards at the Adelaide Convention Centre, taking over two tables with 26 of us in total, including our partners. It was a fabulous night of celebration, and for some, the party continued well into the early hours!
We entered several projects across various categories this year, competing with a staggering number of entries, especially in the New Kitchen categories. The competition was intense, with builders submitting stunning kitchens from new builds in addition to their other entries, making it tough to snag a win in those categories. Although we didn’t take home a prize for the New Kitchen category, we are absolutely thrilled to share our big win in the renovation space!
The Coach House kitchen took home the Best Kitchen in a Renovation over $85K award. And the excitement didn’t stop there—it also won the 2024 South Australian Kitchen Design of the Year. These wins are a huge testament to our team’s combined strength in creative, considered design and meticulous craftsmanship.
One thing we’re particularly proud of is that all our entries were designed and crafted entirely in-house. Unlike many other entries designed by architects or external designers, we handle everything from the initial concept development to the final installation. This approach is a core part of who we are at SpaceCraft and a major point of difference in the market.
It’s worth noting that while the design categories are judged based on drawings and visuals, the kitchen categories are judged on craftsmanship. The judges actually visit homeowners’ properties to see the joinery in person, making these wins all the more special. To have our work recognised in both categories proves we are masters of design and manufacture—a testament to the hard work and dedication of our entire team.
Now, we’re setting our sights on the national stage! As winners of the Kitchen Design of the Year, we’re heading to the HIA National Conference and Awards in Melbourne next May. If the footy fixture and the conference don’t align, we’ll be facing a tough call on what to miss. Either way, we can’t wait to represent South Australia and showcase what we can do on the national level.
Looking forward to celebrating more success in 2025!
