At SpaceCraft, growth isn’t just about taking on more projects—it’s about evolving to meet new challenges while maintaining the high standards that define our award-winning designs. With an increasing pipeline of work, we saw an opportunity to refine our process: how could we ensure our designers stayed focused on pushing creative boundaries while keeping up with the rising demand for technical documentation?
The answer? A dedicated Drafter. And who better to step into this role than someone who knows our processes inside and out?
From Apprentice to Drafter
Victoria’s journey with SpaceCraft began in 2020 as an apprentice cabinet maker. Midway through her second year, she took on a support role in the design team, working closely with Kingsley (our CNC Surgeon) to assist with working drawings, Microvellum nesting, and material ordering. Eager to refine her hands-on skills, she returned to the workshop in 2023 to complete her apprenticeship—an achievement she proudly ticked off in 2024.
When we recognised the need for a dedicated Drafter, Victoria was the obvious choice. She brings the perfect mix of workshop experience and technical expertise—she understands the tools, the materials, and the craftsmanship behind every design, but she’s also a whiz behind the computer, translating concepts into clear, precise drawings. To round out her skillset, she’ll be heading onsite for upcoming installations, gaining firsthand insights into the practical challenges that can arise and how to solve them before they become an issue.
Driving Efficiency and Precision
In her new role, Victoria is based in our newly created Production Office, working alongside Jimmy, Coombs, and Kingsley. Her focus? Transforming design concepts, check measure data, and joinery quotes into detailed construction drawings for client approval. She’ll also ensure non-standard details are documented with absolute clarity—streamlining communication between the design, workshop, and installation teams to keep every project running smoothly.
We’re thrilled to see Victoria step into this role. Her unique blend of hands-on experience and technical expertise makes her the perfect fit to drive efficiency, precision, and innovation as we continue to grow.
At SpaceCraft, we believe in fostering talent from within, supporting our team as they develop new skills and take on fresh challenges. Seeing Victoria step confidently into the Drafter role is a proud moment for us, and we can’t wait to see the impact she’ll have moving forward.
Congratulations, Victoria! We’re excited to have you in the Production Office and can’t wait to see all the amazing things you’ll accomplish in this next chapter.
